Central Florida has been turned upside down by Hurricane Charley, so it shouldn't have bothered me so much that I had to miss an adjustment on Monday, when I expected to hear when these lovely braces will come off. (My orthodontist's office had no electrical power or telephones, and we had no power at home, so a missed adjustment should have been the least of my worries.)

They managed to take me on Wednesday, and I learned I'm supposed to get them off in about four weeks -- but they can't tell me a date because the hurricane knocked their computers out!

I think I will have to name my retainer Charley...
