You could also try other holistic alternative healing. A friend of mine does R.E.S.E.T. (which is like Reiki) and it helps me whenever I have a sore jaw after dental treatment. It helps balance the jaw apparently. I started off being a bit of a cynic, but hey, if it works, use it.
I just had my first adjustment today, and had a session with my friend, so hopefully it will help that smacked in the teeth feeling I had when I got my braces on last time.
