I assume you're just talking about an expander. I couldn't find any information about a "hirach."
There are many people here who have worn expanders. They suck, but I've never heard of something like that happening.
I had an expander when I was a kid and did not experience that issue.
AS they said, it is likely rare and not exactly their fault. How do you know that wouldn't have happened further down the line while in braces?
To say that you wouldn't recommend it, which to me says that you would rather have several teeth extracted, absolutely baffles me. You still have your tooth. You may have to have a root canal, but it is still there, and it is only one tooth. Why anyone would rather have their teeth completely remove, which is not exactly fixable, is beyond me.
