This isnt a big deal at all.

I recently had a pt with a similar situation. Her two front teeth were severley overlapped and once the teeth were straightened we found a cavity in between. THe tooth was filled very easily and conservatively. Has she not been in braces and the cavity was filled before the overlapping of the teeth were corrected then much more of her tooth would have had to have been removed. It worked out great. SOunds like you have a very similar situation.
