My ortho had achieved a nice smooth upper arch and then, as i posted before, he installed a power chain from canine to canine and the UR canine moved back behind the lateral. As well, the tips of the canines moved inwards, leaving the elastics pegs pointing out and digging holes in my lip. This happened overnight. I saw him a few days later and he removed the chain. Things improved.
After a month, at my regular appt, he installed a figure of eight tie from bicuspid to bicuspid and the same thing is happening again, although more slowly. Again, I find it difficult to clean between the canine and the lateral.
Is there any great need to "close spaces"? The cosmetics don't worry me and they do aid cleaning.
Should I ask for another unscheduled appt to see about these changes?
Any help in understanding what is going on would be appreciated.
