When I had my first wire on the top, one end kept sticking me in the cheek too... so my Ortho got creative... she rolled up a tiny dot of the glue that's used to stick the brackets on, and glued this tiny ball onto the end...voila, no more sticking me in the check. When I was in a few weeks ago for a new wire, before she placed it in, she did the same thing to both ends and it's the best thing I have going.. no pain in the back where the wires end. It also makes it easier to hook my elastics around in order to stretch them foward to my canines!
