Everyone is different. I had some pain and trouble eating (but not too much) for about the first week then I had no pain at all for the whole time I was in braces. Other people tell different stories. You may find too that it doesn't hurt now but does later, after an adjustment. Or you may be one of the lucky ones.

Most of the time you just need to go with the flow... but if anything feels wrong or unusual (you'll soon get to know what 'unusual' feels like) then ring your ortho and check. And of course, feel free to sound off on this forum any time!
