I had almost no pain the whole time I was in braces. Like Heather said, everyone has a different pain threshold.

Consider yourself lucky, and don't believe the "no pain, no gain" thing. With orthodontics it just isn't true.

As for the other issues, give it a few days and they will go away. The first week is the hardest, after that your mouth adapts to all the new stuff in it.

The most important thing is to stay positive.
