Subject: spacers

Hi guys,

I just got my spacers yesterday and will be getting the braces put on next week. I was told that since I had an overbite and overjet, the upper braces would have to come on first followed by the lower braces after a few months. My question is since the lower braces will not come on until later, why have they put spacers on my lower arc also?

I mean if they remove the lower spacers next week, won't my molars close in again by the time my lower braces come on? Have they made a mistake?

:( I don't particularly like the feeling of spacers on my lower arc, I feel it is pushing my teeth out. Is that normal?

Thanks,

-Vinay
