I got my braces off in mid-May. It was by far the most painful orthodontist appt. I had. My mouth was sore for about 2 weeks and I couldn't brush without bleeding. I would wait until after your vacation. My retainers were made the same day. On one occasion I had to wait one week for another set to be made and I did notice tooth movement. I wouldn't risk it and would wait. Good Luck and congrats!
