I'm experiencing the same thing, but I think it is normal for my case.

It's kind of ironic, though, because I had an expander when I was a kid to EXPAND my upper palate.

If it's not normal, your ortho will notice and prevent any further shrinkage, I'm sure.

Did you have any extractions or anything? I don't know if it's typical with extractions, but I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons it appears my upper arch is smaller.

I know that my archwire is now very close to my premolars. My premolars do not have any brackets yet (which will change on the 16th). Before, it was a sticking out a little ways.
