Subject: Playing with brackets

Hiya guys,

Just wondered if anyone else sub-consciously ever plays with their brackets. I tend to pull mine closer together so that I can feel my teeth move without even realising I'm playing with them. I have a few gaps left between my front teeth and still a slight overjet. Will my fiddling affect my progress in anyway (speed up or slow down)? I'm still aware of my 'goofy' teeth and I hope to God that I am not doing any damage/extending my treatment time. Ortho said estimate of about 8 months treatment time maximum. I am now 4 and a half months in and not really seen a great deal of difference, argh!!!

Thanks for your help.
