I wasn't nervous about getting my braces at all until I got into the chair at the orthodontist's office. I told them I was nervous, because I was afraid it would hurt, and they said, "Oh, getting them on doesn't hurt at all."

They were right -- aside from the horrible sour taste of the cement, that process was brief and not bad at all.

Now, for the next several days I had significant pain in my teeth -- but it passed. It's 2 weeks later and I really have no problems at all, except some discomfort when eating or brushing -- but that's minor.

It's really not that bad, and it will be worth it!
