Hi. I'm hoping there is someone here that can help me!!!

I'm going to be moving out of state soon and I asked my ortho about getting my records so I can take them with me for when I find an ortho in the state I'm moving. They told me that I could pick one of their list, pay them $75 and then they would have the records sent to them.

First of all, I don't want to just pick an ortho off of a list. I have 3 consultations set up and I want it to be MY choice who I choose to finish my last little bit of treatment.

Second of all, I don't understand why these records can not be released to me. I would like to have my records with me so when I choose the ortho I want, I have my records there instead of holding up my treatment for them to be sent away for.

Does anyone know the laws or policies on this? The lady I have to deal with isn't in until Monday and I would like to have some knowledge before I talk to her.

Thanks in advance!!

Audra
