I had 3-all were free, and none offered up a book of before and after pics. The first wanted to extract an upper tooth to get my midline right, the second wanted to extract 2 teeth, and the third said he'd like to try to get things right without extractions if possible. I went with the third doc. He spent about 15 minutes or so with me, and seemed very nice and approachable. He had braces at 39, so he has a very good view of what it's like to be an adult in braces. Plus some of my teeth are somewhat mis-shapen in addition to being crooked, and he said when the braces come off, he will contour my teeth a bit to make them nice and even and smooth. I like that idea.
I am now a month in, so we will see how it goes!
