Subject: Lingual arch?

Well, I got my upper braces done, as well as bands on my lower molars. So far, not so bad, although I am going through tons of wax.

Anyway, I've been told that at my next appointment in two weeks, I'm going to get a lingual arch. The little tubes on my molars for the arch are driving me crazy (hence the use of tons of wax). Does anybody have a lingual arch? Does it irritate your tongue?
