I think there are different types of closing wires, but all serve the same basic function. My first archwire with loops was hand-crafted by my ortho, he put the loops in himself. I had elastics that went from lower first molars to those loops, which were at my canine. This latest archwire has what I think are called Omega loops.
Dr. Rick...can you provide more info? How do closing loops work and what are the different kinds?
