>I know what you mean, but hang in there. I've had my braces on for nearly 3 weeks and the first 4 days felt like I had been kicked in the teeth. It is getting better every day, although I have days when different teeth hurt (which I feel is from different varieties of food.)I had my first grilled chicken burger from Hungry Jacks (I think you call HJ's,Burger King in America) last week and it was heaven but boy, did my teeth hurt the next day. I am gradually being able to handle tender steaks and harder food now, so it will improve. I find the hardest thing is how the hooks on the bands cut into my mouth when I'm eating sometimes but this too has been improving.
By the way, be careful if you do any contact sports. I do Taekwondo and was holding a pad which one of the bigger guys kicked which jarred my jaw and the next day my teeth hurt there as well. (I weigh 55kgs - about 110 pounds I think and am 167cm tall so I don't have a lot of body weight to go with it.) By the way, in case your wondering I'm nearly 40, and I think you need to stay positive and just look at every day as a new day. I have a 15mm overbite and will be in braces for 18 months with orthognathic surgery in 8 1/2 months to improve my problems so the only way I can see myself getting through my upper and lower jaw surgery is by staying positive.
