If the Essix is the clear plastic one, that's what I have. And I wish I had the one with the wire, because I've only had this one since February and I've already bitten one hole in it (tiny) and it's worn in two other spots. And I don't wear it during the day, just at night. I can see it's not going to last all that long!

I just bought a generic brand packet of denture tablets and they were only a couple of dollars, if I remember rightly, for 30 tablets. Which is 30 weeks! Mind you, a lot of the ortho type stuff you have in the States is not available in Australia except through an orthodontist, which hikes up the price. Eg, wax, floss threaders and ortho toothbrushes are only available in the really big pharmacies (drugstores) and then not always. My dentist ordered floss threaders in for me - he'd never even heard of them. He kept saying, "You mean Oral B Super Floss?" For such a big place, Australia does act like a country town sometimes!! (But I still love it....)
