Agreed on the wire vs. clear! I've about worn through my clear upper in a couple of places in the year I've had it. I can see I'm going to need to replace it every year or so! I wonder what the lifetime of a wire Hawley is? Expect to be going to nights only soon, so a wire one wouldn't bother me.

As for cleaning, I've been using the Aquafresh stuff and it seems to work pretty well. Its more minty than the Retainer bight stuff. Been buying it on sale, and each box has a $.50 coupon in it, which all my local grocery stores double.
