Subject: First morning in retainers

When I removed the Essix retainers this morning for breakfast, I actually looked at them to see if my teeth were still attached to them!! Aching molars, lots of spit. I am eating ibuprofen every few hours. But I know this, too, shall pass in a couple of days, like after an adjustment. My teeth went through trauma removing the braces and then the retainers yesterday, so it makes sense that they are complaining! I am really looking forward to not having to wear them except at night and to being used to somebody else's teeth in my mouth and chewing well!
