Everybody's experience is different with braces and pain. I understand what you're saying, although my braces that have been on 2 months have hurt minimally since being placed. I did plan on the possibility of pain, having some leftover Vicidin from my tooth extraction in reserve. Thankfully, I didn't need it. I think orthodontists should be willing to reduce a patient's pain as appropriate. OTC meds just don't cut it in some cases.
