Don't toss out your wax when you are debanded! I have a really painful spot on the side of my tongue where it was cut trying to get a stubborn molar band off. It rubs the edge of the retainer! It's not the retainer's fault, I just need to heal my tongue. Oragel helped a little, but then I bethought myself of the advanced and scientific aid, wax! Bingo!
Starting my third day in Essix retainers. I am getting used to the tightness. They still hurt like crazy snapping them on and off, though. Some of my teeth were sore yesterday, but today I can tell will be much better. If I can get this sore healed, I am in business! Big sigh.
