Hi Lileth,

I am sorry that you are facing this situation. Unlike you, I had internal root resorption. A root canal was done followed by having some type of material placed within the root to fill it. A crown was placed over the tooth in the final stage. That is the best way that I can explain it. It was an expensive and lengthy process (almost a year of numerous appts.) I was told there were absolutely no guarantees that the tooth would be saved but it seems that it has been. So far, so good. It's been over a year and all seems OK now. If that had failed, an implant would have replaced the missing tooth. It was a 2nd molar and the root resorption occurred without any warning or known cause.
