Obviously, I can't speak for everyone since we have all had different experiences, however I would have to say the spacers were the worst. When the braces went on they were painful for about a week (for me) and for a few days after adjustments but most of the time they were fine. I only had mine for six months, but I promise it WASN'T six months of constant pain!

Try taking a pain killer BEFORE you see the ortho, so it has started to kick in before you get there. That helps.
