I've had braces for about 16 months and in May my Dr. was fitting me for retainers. I couldn't believe it! From what I can see I still have a long, long, way to go. I called the Dr. and the braces weren't removed. My advice is to express your concerns to your doctor.(that's the same advice I received from others on this site and it worked). I have no idea when the braces will come off. I was told I'd be in braces for 18 months to 24 months. I don't care how long I have to wear them as long as I get the desired results. Good luck.
