Come on guys lighten up.... At sixteen it seems like a big deal to have braces. I was told, many years ago, at 15 I needed braces by my dentist and I thought no way. All the other kids were getting their braces off and they wanted me to start them now. I remember way back telling my mom I won't go to the orthodontist. I went anyway and he said I didn't need braces. What a relief, now 30 years later I'm in braces to correct some minor crowding and I'm more comfortable with my braces around adults than I would have been as a kid. Kids can be cruel at times. I think my wife even likes the way I look in braces.
