Personally, I'm not getting them off until I'm 100% satisified. I have a two year expectancy too, but if it takes 2.5 I'd rather that and they be perfect. If your dentist says he/she thinks they should be on a few more months, and you're not happy, I would NOT let him take them off until you were. You can probably go see another ortho in your area, possibly one you'd transfer to, and see what he/she says. You didn't spend two years, and however much $ to be unhappy after the treatment. Stand up for yourself!
