I use one of those hand blenders (looks like a fat stick). They're fantastic and so easy to clean--just rinse under the tap. You can blend things like soup right in the pot, so no need to dirty an entire blender. Saves on washing up (which is a big priority in my life since I hate doing dishes). Plus the one I have (Braun?) will blend anything. It even crushes ice.
