Cyclocross is gaining popularity in the states, and the amount of races is growing.
I think that artificial rules that eliminate competition instead of fostering open competition do not help the riders or the sport.
Isn't this what we complain about with le tour, that good teams and riders often do not get a chance to compete often because of the selection process for wild card?
If Dutch and Belgian riders dominate in an open field as they are the better riders then let the others come up to that competition level.
The only other criteria that may be fair would be to have some pre-selection process as in have heats leading to semi-finals and then the final selection...or points gained in races to select the order of starts. I think any sport suffers more when some fair form of selection is used.
Let the games begin eh!
Your English is great Mark no problem here. straks, vaughn
