蒙嘉慧學會珍惜食水..........大公報.........19/04/2001

蒙嘉慧早前參與樂施會慈善活動﹐到陝西丹鳳縣探訪﹐該縣是個貧困縣。蒙嘉慧表示﹐他們探訪的那個村莊非常落後且很偏僻﹐乘車兩小時後﹐還要步行半句鐘才到達﹐她又發現這村莊原來很小的﹐只有十六戶人家﹑全村的村民僅有百餘人。
　　蒙嘉慧謂﹐抵村落後﹐看到的全都是婦孺﹐因為男的全都出外打工了。丹鳳縣的環境很落後﹐食水又短缺﹐全靠一條水脈供水。現在﹐幸得樂施會的幫助﹐為他們建了一個密封式的儲水池﹐再將水引入各家各戶。
　　蒙嘉慧表示﹐雖然樂施會替他們改善水的問題﹐但食水始終不是很衛生﹐不過這已令村民滿足了。
　　經過今次探訪﹐蒙嘉慧感到自己很浪費﹐經常喝了半瓶蒸餾水便棄掉﹐所以在當地的時候﹐她不敢胡亂浪費他們缺乏的食水﹖回港後她會勸導身邊的朋友要珍惜食水。
　　此外﹐蒙嘉慧自言有很多未穿過的衣裳。現她計劃把所有不要的衣裳全捐給王賢誌協辦的服裝捐贈活動﹐給予有需要的人。
