深入貧困山區體驗民生蒙嘉慧活在香港感幸福....香港商報....19/04/2001

蒙嘉慧於四月間隨樂施會到西安丹鳳縣一個落後村落探訪﹐由於地處偏僻﹐要乘坐兩小時車程後再要徒步半小時始抵達。而整條村落只有十六戶共百多人﹐村內所有男丁都出外工作﹐只留下婦孺在家中﹐而蒙嘉慧則跟隨婦儒體驗生活。
　　經過短短幾日體驗生活後﹐她發覺自己生活在香港是非常幸福﹐事關這條村落資源貧乏﹐食水供應亦成問題﹐她曾觀察過水源﹐發覺食水非常污穢﹐後來樂施會在山上建了一個密封式水庫﹐縱使不能儲存太多水﹐但村民已很開心了﹐為了節省用水﹐村民都會將洗滌過的水循環再用﹐她自知在港扭開水喉已有水可用﹐不自覺情況下用了太多水了。
　　正因為水的污染問題嚴重﹐大部分村民都患上皮膚病﹐蒙嘉慧見狀亦深明要珍惜食水。
　　她自言某程度上是個浪費的人﹐買衫已花了不少錢﹐但每件衫只能著一﹑兩次便丟在一邊﹐幸而王賢誌正著手籌備為東華三院進行二手衫義賣﹐對方要求收集舊衫她便一口答應。她又透露五月再隨樂施會出外體驗生活。
