This is true you will get knocked over:) The transition to things like that where you need them coming fast and want to reward them for the coming fast is/was to hold the toy out at your side at the last second as the dog is coming to you, this is how he had us train fast recalls off the bite for ring. BUT this is only after the dog was brought up on play fighting with you, so I would hold the toy out for Stasi at the last second as she was flying back to me, then she'd circle back to me and shove it into me to play with her.

The 2 blind-blind search was all done for the bite from the helper, EXCEPT when you got into teaching the entire 6 blind pattern, then it was 1 blind, sit as they came to you, then toy. Then send to another blind, back sit, toy. To keep speed to you instead of anticipating sits with a dog that obviously you could not get flipped in the air with: send around blind, at the last second pop the toy out from your side and catch the dog and fight, but if it's too big then just give the toy then it comes back to fight with you. It just had to be varied between the 2 to keep up speed and accuracy, when taught this way it is extremely fast and if the dog does it too wide or something, you can nip it early, by just resending them when it's not right until they do one that looks tight enough, yell good when they round it correctly and produce toy. Saves you from doing electric for something that is just not that difficult to get. This was just how he taught us to teach it, once the dog had it without the helper on the field for blinds 1-5, then if it skipped blinds to go straight for the helper the helper dropped the sleeve stepped out of the blind and the dog found nothing once it got there - "dead sleeve". What are you doing if the dog doesn't come back to you, or doesn't go around the blind? Now mind you Ivan has changed some minor things in how he trains since I started with him in schutzhund, and I switched to ring after my first dog.
Good luck, If you have any specific questions about the obedience on or not on the tape or protection stuff done his way I can try to explain, but I've only seen the tape once so something specific por favor: )
