Anomy, I work extensivley with Boxers. Tracking is all founded from the fetch and retrieve. If your dog can't fetch and retrieve with reliability, you can forget consistant and reliable scent descrimination work. Your foundation is flawed. You are busy trying to conn and bribe your dog into his work with food and games of play. I will tell you this, if you are against leading your dog to experience sucess, you are wasting your time looking for the "right dog" and missing out on the opportunity to develop this dog to his full potential. He just doesn't know it yet. He needs you to assume the responsability of the leadership roll you chose and show him your vision of what he has the ability to accomplish. He has learned to work for himself, around what you want him to do, as he is pleasing himself, based on lack of sufficiant leadership.
