美國哥倫比亞公司投資拍攝跨國影片「天地英雄」，獲邀為本屆東京影展的特別觀摩影片，華裔主角姜文、趙薇和日本男星中井貴一，將聯袂出席首映典禮。

哥倫比亞公司繼「臥虎藏龍」、「雙瞳」之後，投資大陸導演何平拍攝「天地英雄」，片中姜文是唐朝戍守邊疆的將軍，因違抗軍令而被通緝，日本特史中井貴一前往西域捉拿姜文，趙薇演的大臣之女，被捲入這場風暴中。

姜文和中井貴一兩位硬底子演員，跨越語言隔閡，光看他們用眼神來對戲，扣人心弦。據瞭解，該片可能被大陸選為明年角逐奧斯卡外語片。
