Shake your Body!
Every day find new ways to move your body. Use the stairs rather than an escalator or elevator. Walk your dog (or a neighbours' dog if you don't have one!) , chase your kids, play ball with friends, mow the lawn. Anything that moves your limbs is not only a fitness tool, it's a stress buster. Think 'move' in small increments of time. It doesn't have to be an hour in the gym or a 45-minute cardiovascular class or body pump or kickboxing. Move more and feel better!
Cut the Fat
Don't eat the obvious fat in your diet such as fried foods, burgers and other fatty meats. Eat dairy products like cheese, cottage cheese, milk and cream low fat versions. Nuts and sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces should be eaten in limited amounts and even then in their low fat verions. Most are available in lower fat versions.

Reward yourself regularly, (don't use food as a reward) buy a new outfit, get a new hair style, even if it's just a grin of approval in the mirror. Don't weigh yourself every day. Instead, get on the weight scales once a week to avoid discouragement.
Instead of obsessing over your weight, keep track of your waist measurement, body fat percentage or clothing size. Have 2 pieces of clothing to help you track your progress. ! that's way too tight and one that fits perfectly at the start of your diet. Try them on every 4 weeks. Create a small graph like the one below with one line that shows your weekly target progress and the other that shows your actual progress. Reward yourself regularly, (don't use food as a reward) buy a new outfit, get a new hair style, even if it's just a grin of approval in the mirror. Don't weigh yourself every day. Instead, get on the weight scales once a week to avoid discouragement.
Instead of obsessing over your weight, keep track of your waist measurement, body fat percentage or clothing size. Dip into nail polish remover and then rub over the surface of the nail. Check the nail for any creamy residue. When none remains, your nails will be ready for polishing. Time for color. Dogfighting is a barbaric bloodsport. Those who take part in it are for the most part uneducated rabble who live through the exploits of their dogs. They are social misfits with self-esteem problems. Losers.
I know because I used to be one of them. I was in my late teens/early twenties. I was in awe of these mighty dogs. I was taught by some of the best dogmen in Louisiana. They used to take me to all the matches. I absorbed as much knowledge as I could concerning these four-footed warriors.

When the time came, I matched. I lost 3 before I won one. Every one of those dogs who lost was shot in the head for standing the line. I shot them because I was taught not to feed or keep a cur.

After 25 years away from the dogs and an education, my opinion of the dogs has not changed. I still find them to be proud, fearless and loyal. It's the game that is revolting. Just because these dogs have this amazing ability does not give us the right to fight them. It is despicable to wager money on such a thing.
All those guys I learned from back in the day turned out to be scum. I could name a few names and suprise a few folks, but I won't. The game has ALWAYS been polluted with drug dealers and scam artists. There is no honor in this so called "sport".

I am determined to stop dogfighting wherever I find it. I have the knowledge to know who is the "real deal" and who is just a punk "streetfighter" type. Either way, I will end their careers. I will make sure they never fight another pitbull again.

It is almost 2004 folks...It's time to find a new hobby.

You're absolutely right about that! When anyone abuses an animal in any way, they should have done to them EXACTLY what they did to the animal. But lets go one step further ... the winner of the fight to the death (the one who didn't die) would then be used in labs for research and experimentation, until their death. If they are physically unsuitable for research/experimentation (disease, etc.) then they would be sent to MARINE boot camp and then be stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan or where ever there is a war currently going on ... assuming the Marines didn't kill them first when their abuse to animals was discovered!

Ive got me a blue game bred pit bull. Hes the best dog ive ever had and is very, very able when it comes to the hunting field. Even the original purpose of its ancestors, the Olde Bulldogge and terrier, was to be farm dogs and hunters. Even though this breed is as tough as nails and able to take anything that comes its way is something to respect, and if you want to be able to enjoy your dog showin how tough and strong it is, atleast find a sane form of entertainment for it. But fighting in the pits, there is nothing that disgusts me more than the people that take these incredible tough multi-purpose,loving dogs and turn them in to animals that have only one purpose, and that is to kill the other it faces in the pit.

forced to fight? Fighting is in their blood you don't have to force them to fight. Its an instinct that comes out right when they are born. I own a pit and I walked him the other day and a neighbors dog, a lab/rottwrieler mix, was loose and he ran up on my dog. I tried to prevent it by pulling my dog away and picking him up and walking away, but all his attention was on that dog charging to him and me pulling away just made the other dog get a good first hit and he grabbed my dog by the cheek for about a good minute then he lost his grip and my dog took control and almost killed the dog. The owner of the dog came running out the yard and turned on the water hose and squirted my dog off his. My dog was still circling around the dog while I was chasing him to keep him from attacking again. The man's dog wasn't badly injured but he did bleed a whole lot. I have never fought my dog and I seen that his genetics haven't changed in hundreds of years. He loves female dogs and puppies. He is only aggressive to same size or bigger male dogs, lawn mowers, and fireworks

You need to get your info right, The dogs were breed to fight and kill game animals such as bears, bulls, and hogs. Back then the dogs were called Brittish Terriers and they havent even seen american soil yet. Once the English government banned the games which I may say they enjoyed so much that people like you started talking BS and they had to ban the games. Anyway when the games were canceled people turned to dog on dog fights and whom would be better than the Pit bull. Also the dogs were breed for the best of the best. The breeder sold all the weak ones and kept all the ones with potential. The dogs were trained to fight dogs and thats it if the dog showed any aggression toward its owner it would be put to sleep, the dogs were family loving pets also they would never hurt a person.
Its people like you who get the term dogfight screwed up. The American Pit bull was breed to fight and not Looks. To better the breed we must train the dogs and breed them with the best. The dog only wants to please their owner. The American Pit Bull is a game dog and any thing near its size, it will think is a challange. In a real dog fight nobody gets killed just pure action. The dog loves to fight and thinks its just a game, and trust me he loves to play the game.
I do not wish anyone to do anything illegal because the dog is considered a deadly weapon by most people. so dont train your dog to fight, regardless of how much fun it looks.

I have temper problem and find handling argumments and fights verydifficult. I become very imotional and take every thing personal. I have low self esteem and i feel very insecure about my self. I try the most stupidset things to make my self better and obviously it doesn't help.
Every time i am in these sorts of mood i feel like every one is disgusted with my reactions i feel like my boyfriend doesn't love me anymore and it feels like the end of the atworld. I think i need some serious advice, which i can useto calm me down in these situations.

The Breeder—a person who has on his premises one or more bitches which are mated for commercial purposes, for sale as pets, as game dogs, or to produce potential show, field or obedience dogs. The serious breeders are highly interested in the genetics aspect of breed improvement.
Care and Management— in the entire process of the care and management of dogs, the exercise of good judgment is involved. Upon the choice of the two dogs, male and female to be mated together depends upon the future success or failure of one’s dogs. If the two to be mated are ill chosen, either individually or as pertains to their fitness as mates, one to the other, all the painstaking care to feed and rear the resultant puppies correctly is wasted. The mating together of two dogs is the drafting of the blueprints and the writing of the specification of what the puppies are to be like. The puppies when they arrive, must be adequately fed and cared for in order to develop them into the kinds of dogs they are in their germ plasma designed to become. However, if the plans as determined in the mating are defective, just so will the puppies that result from them be defective, in spite of all the good raising one can give them.
Element of Luck— the element of luck in the breeding of dogs cannot be discounted, for it exists. The mating which on paper appears to be the best possible may result in puppies that are poor and untypical of breed. Even less frequently, a good puppy (champion mutts) may result from a chance mating together of two ill chosen parents. The results are fortuitous and unusual, however the best dogs as a lot come from parents carefully chosen as to their individual excellences and as to their suitability as mates for each other. It is as unwise as it is unnecessary to trust to luck in the breeding of dogs. Careful planning pays off in the long run, and few truly excellent dogs are produced without it.
Some breeders without any knowledge of genetics have been successful, without knowing exactly why they succeeded. Some of them have adhered to beliefs in old wives’ tales and to traditional concepts that science has long since exploded and abandoned.
Best to Best— breed the best to the best was an early breeder of Thoroughbreds, names Robert Bakewell’s axioms. This led to the mating of superior animals regardless of relationship and this frequently led to extremely close mating. He thereby introduced inbreeding as a tool in breed improvement.
Like begets Like— it is questionable whether Bakewell in practice carried this adage to the extreme, some of his adherents did in latter years. Bakewell merely maintained that superior animals were more likely to produce superior offspring than inferior individuals. He was therefore very critical in his selection of breeding stock, not only as to appearance but as to performance and, as to breeding performance.
Inbreeding— inbreeding may be defined as the mating of animals which are more closely related than the average of the breed. By inbreeding the number of ancestors is necessarily reduced, but the number of ancestral places remains the same.
Reasons for close breeding— there are several rather specific reasons for inbreeding. The first is the purification of bloodiness. Inbreeding induces segregation; hence continued inbreeding accompanied by rigorous selection for certain characteristics is the quickest and most certain method of fixing desirable traits, undesirable traits are, however, fixed with as much rapidity and sometimes it appears they are fixed with even more ease than desirable traits; hence the selection should always be directed at the traits sought in the line after they are purified. Inbreeding neither adds nor subtracts from the line, it merely brings out what is in the bred and offers the breeder the opportunity of selecting more intensive than he otherwise would. It is a mistake to start inbreeding until one has reason to believe that he has something good in the line. On the other hand, it’s a mistake to delay inbreeding after something good has been found because each outcross eliminates exactly one-half of the hereditary material already in the breed.
Undesirable Traits— undesirable traits, as mention earlier, come with inbreeding. Therefore corrective mating (outcross) has their place in constructive breeding. The corrective mating should be made for the specific purpose of correcting some definite defect in a stock or strain. The outcross needs to be followed by a certain amount of inbreeding in order to fix the character in the strain; otherwise it is likely to be lost in subsequent outcrossings.

The American Dog Breeders Association Inc. is committed to the betterment of the breed and the promotion of the positive aspects of the American Pit Bull Terrier. Because this is our pledge to the owners and breeders of ADBA registered American Pit Bull Terriers, we have no recourse but to close registration privileges to American Pit Bull Terriers identified as having the merle color pattern. As of February 21, 2005 no single registrations will be accepted on dogs having the merle color pattern. Registration of merle pups born to ADBA registered dogs will no longer be accepted after the breeding date of February 21, 2005. The registration status of merle dogs already in the stud book, will not be affected. Litter registration of non affected pups from registered stock containing the merle color pattern can continue to be registered , as the merle allele being dominant will always be expressed and can be easily identified. It is our recommendation that all merle pups born, should be spayed /or neutered and placed in pet homes only.

Ive got me a blue game bred pit bull. Hes the best dog ive ever had and is very, very able when it comes to the hunting field. I know many people think that to own and fight a pit, is to be all bad ass, and that its something to brag on, and for those who fight their pits and use the pathetic excuse that they are actually improving the breed by getting rid of the weak ones and breedin the ''strong'' ones, well, ive never heard such BS. They just dont want to admit that in order to be entertained it takes something extremely barbaric to satisfy them. Im not comparing dogs to humans, but animals were put here for a reason and dog fighting, makin em stay in the pit to the death, just isnt one of em. Its people like this that fight em,that give this breed such a bad name. For all those pit fighters out there that claim that these dogs were bred to be in the pits, well, let me tell you the real reason this breed was originally bred. They were bred as flock guards, hunters, and all around farm and family dogs. Once the unbeatable fighting ability of these dogs was discovered against angry bulls that farmers had to herd up or wild hogs that they were hunting, they were then put into the pits for the sole purpose of gruesome entertainment and gambling. Even the original purpose of its ancestors, the Olde Bulldogge and terrier, was to be farm dogs and hunters. Even though this breed is as tough as nails and able to take anything that comes its way is something to respect, and if you want to be able to enjoy your dog showin how tough and strong it is, atleast find a sane form of entertainment for it. But fighting in the pits, there is nothing that disgusts me more than the people that take these incredible tough multi-purpose,loving dogs and turn them in to animals that have only one purpose, and that is to kill the other it faces in the pit.

Then explain why the original GAME stock we sent to the US from the UK (England ireland and scotland) were called pitdogs or pitbulls and still hold the same title up to now?

Secondly WHY GET A GAME BRED PITDOG and not a AM staff bred for show (not game bred)

I also have 3 blue game bred staffs of old times 1800s to be exact,
do not miss understand me i do not fight or condone the fighting aspect of these pitdogs, but i know and understand the history of the bull cross terriers and that they were bred only for pit uses bad with dogs but good with humans then it became illegal, hence the show/pet type "bull/terriers" came.
Be it AM staff, staff, pit bull, or english BT previous to this coal miners in staffordshire only had and worked pitdogs

And a 80lb cross between bull and terrier named blue paul owned by MR JAMES B MORRISON was responsable for the following strains;

Dear Ringsport Enthusiasts:

From October 9 through October 12, 2003, the North American Ring Association will be sponsoring its annual NARA Championship and NARA Cup competition. This year’s festivities promise to be the grandest undertaking in the history of our organization.

The Judge for the competition will be Michel Valladon of France, and the decoys for the event will be as follows:

Frank Cowen (USA, Level II)
Peter Cointe (France, Level II)
Christiam Dominguez (Mexico, Level II)
David Ellery (Canada, Level II)

The NARA Championships and NARA Cup will take place at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo, CA. The Main Arena area will be the focus of all the activities, a TRULY FIRST RATE VENUE. This is right across the street from the entrance to Marine World Africa, USA.

This email is one last reminder for anyone wishing to participate as a Vendor of Goods, that there are still some spaces available and you are more then welcome to come and sell your wares to the dog enthusiast public.

We expect a record turnout from all over the US and other countries.

We saw a man throw her out his truck window. She was covered in old and new scars. You could tell she had been beaten and was probably fighting. And we figure she wasn't any good at it so the man threw her away. Now she is very loved, good natured and Very gentle. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body.

I have to admire the dogs from Jamie Long, his Virgil line is on the larger side and are great working and catch dogs.

Also the big boys from Dagger. They have everything that it takes, in one big pit bull package.
