Hi,

it's very late and I'm very tired as I just got back from the Empire Ring Club and mine and Mac McClusky's Mondio Decoy certification (more on that later).

So certifying in both PSA and Mondioring this week, I guess may give me a fresh perspective.

The PSA decoys I saw were safe and caught the dogs well on the courage attack. But these were all, to a dog, armpit biters.

I have to be honest, I don't see how it is possible to run at a dog from 45 metres and catch the dog on the leg if the catch means absorbing the bite, or in the case of a strong fast dog, a spinning pivot. Arm, sure... but leg? I don't know if I could do it.

I'm curious, Mark, when you say the decoys have to know ahead of time if the dog is a leg biter, is that a required part of a trial?

Perhaps I misunderstood.

Or am just wiped out. Selecting under a French judge who's son is one of the best decoys in the world is a little taxing. :)
