Yes David, adding a couple of stick hits would give the majority of people the idea of a better test.

More than a couple of hit would only be unnecessary abuse on the dog, a chance for the decoy to be unfair between dogs and one extra chance for the dog to get injured.

The bamboo stick hits are not testing pain tolerance in the dog; they are testing the will the dog has to fight someone who is fighting back.

And … it is just a wonderful game to play with your dog that like the other dogs’games, tests more the trainer than the dog.
