Subject: Zorastrian- Christianity etc

There seems to be connection between Zorastrian and Christianity through Mithraism. I have been researching this on the web for a while and have found a surprising number of sites pertaining to Mithraism and Christianity. There is a Hindu connection in there also. Mithra is aminor god in hinduism. There was a time when the Zorastrian empire extended all the way from Greece to northjern third of India and included some of tibet and all of Afganistan. After Alexander's conquests in retaliation to Zorastrian king burning the Acropolis the numbers of Zorastrians dwindled and till the Muslim invasion Afgans and others in the surrounding areas were Budhists. Baptism may be Hindu in origin- dipping in the Ganges, the trinity happens to be a Hindu concept and so is communion. Constatine co-opted Mithra's birthday was on December 25th to celebrate Christmas when himself converted. Avestan and Sanskrit are sister languages with a lot of commonalities including common verses in the Gathas and the Vedas, the second half of Zarthustra means camel and the same in sanskrit. I am rambling now, over all it seems like every one borrowed from every one else while the rulers decided what the the relegion de juer would be.

Yes I agree that many of the religions (especially the earlier ones) adopted similar practices and beliefs. I, myself, believe that God put many religions on the planet to see who would understand that we are still all ONE and whoever respects all religions, in addition to doing good and being spiritual rather than religious may have found the Truth.

I am Persian and can tell you since i was a child all i felt was that i am somehow connected to christianity eventhough i grew up with the muslim culture. i only could undrestand the language of christianity which is close to Mithra.even though they were trying o brain wash me. but i had connection in heart.

i feel the as indo iranian languages the rel judaism zorastrn christianity islam hindusm orgnd with similar ancestor relgn and mixing animistic beliefs locally whr they profored
