There are many stories about Hawk Mountain and the surrounding area. One that comes to mind is a story about a white "ghost" bird that is seen in the area, did the claw marks resemble a bird's claws? I suggest getting a copy of Charlie Adams' book, The Ghost Stories of Berks County, it has some very good stories in it about Hawk Mountain and the surrounding area. Some of the things that you say happened to your car sound like they might be related to a mechanical problem with your vehicle, the road to Hawk Mountain is a pretty steep hill, that would explain why it seemed like your car was dragging and the overheating is a natural side effect of running a car up a steep hill in hot weather, i would suggest checking your coolant level and making sure you have enough coolant in your radiator. I know i seem skeptical but we have to rule out all possible natural occurances before we can start looking at the event as a paranormal incident.
