People have different opinion, and as long as there's one good opinion, there will be an opposite opinion that's just as well spoken. I agree with the idea that not only good bands get signed. Now, I believe that the All-American Rejects are a good band, and they play a good show. But I wasn't "floored" when I saw them in concert, just as you weren't when you saw the Twelve Pearls. The music business isn't about who's genuinely talented. It's about luck and looks (whether physically or stereotypically, if you understand the difference), and talent is just something that's good to have... if you have it.
