The story I heard was that Simmons needed to make a PD hire, and since they wanted to keep Lance Balance, they made Dain Craig the PD. Dain wanted the job or he wouldn't sign a new contract, and the stations are going to Bonneville anyway. So keep who you can, and let those you don't want go.
