Maybe Star gets a bump or two from it, but you don't outpace the competition by THAT much without doing something right, you know?

The "K102" moniker was a mistake though. Research shows that stations who round their dial position up (from 101.9 to 102) cause undo confusion for themselves. In the days of analog dials, it was fine. Blows me away, but there are still stations around the country that round up even when they're at .7! (i.e., 105.7 becomes 'Hot 106') If you want people to recall who you are, you've got to keep it as simple as possible. Radio is so low on people's priority lists.
