Henry, those were some excellent remarks concerning B 98.7. To the person who said that they've quit using "with Todd and Erin in the morning" phrase after every sentence, I've still yet to notice an end to that miserable phrase.

With the launch of 971 KISS FM, I think B 98.7 is sounding a little old and crusty already. Granted, KISS pushes the lines of being an at work station (a little too hard for the office I believe), B 98.7 just sounds very small market. Yup, get rid of Todd and Erin in the near future, because let's face it, they aren't the B's future...

Promoting a live and local station is an excellent idea. Just as a reference as I know you've all heard before, Magic of Boise, owned by Citadel, began promoting their "live and local" status constantly after KISS FM hit the airwaves there. At first, KISS was beating Magic in the ratings. But eventually, Magic gained back the listeners of Boise and now has a considerable lead over KISS and will most likely maintain it. My point is that live and local does matter. The problem with The B doing that is that it's not like their direct competition isn't mostly live and local either. KISS of Boise has been completely voicetracked at times, so it made sense at Magic to do this. Stressing a live and local station at the B wouldn't make much sense when at the moment, there is only one voicetrack on 971 KISS FM. But being live and local really does matter. Personally, if I have the choice, I will pick a live and local station over a voicetrack anyday, whether the playlists are identical or not.
