Date Posted: Saturday, March 15, 04:16:10am http://www.ezpass.com/interagency.shtml The Regional Consortium is an organization comprising five transportation agencies representing Delaware, New Jersey and New York. The agencies of the Regional Consortium include the Delaware Department of Transportation, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the New Jersey Highway Authority, the South Jersey Transportation Authority, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The Regional Consortium offers E-ZPass Electronic Toll Collection technology on the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey bridges and tunnels, Delaware Turnpike (I-95), Delaware State Route 1 in New Jersey on the Atlantic City Expressway, the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. For a list of toll roads, bridges and tunnels in states that offer, or will soon offer E-ZPass, click on the appropriate state button in the lefthand column of this page. Or, click on a state in the map on this page to view the list of E-ZPass toll facilities in that state. You can use your E-ZPass tag at any toll facility where is displayed. Ultimately, the Regional Consortium will orchestrate the development of the worlds largest seamless electronic toll collection network, bringing E-ZPass to more than 700 toll lanes along 415 miles of roads, tunnels and bridges in the Northeast United States. The Consortium Member agencies are also a part of the larger Interagency Group (IAG), an association of sixteen northern toll agencies spanning seven states that have committed to offering a fully interoperable electronic toll collection system known as E-ZPass for motorists using the toll roads, bridges and tunnels in the region. The E-ZPass electronic toll collection technology was first introduced in the Northeastern United States in 1993. The technology was developed as a revolutionary technique for collecting tolls and increasing vehicle capacity at toll plazas. Electronic toll collection systems like E-ZPass, coupled with dedicated toll lanes, are now used worldwide to replace traditional stop-and-pay toll collection.
