(OMAHA, Neb.-May 12, 1999)-ACI Worldwide (Nasdaq:TSAI), a leading international provider of EFT processing applications, announces the roll out of BASE24 Remote Banking(TM) with First Data Resources Australia, Ltd. (NYSE:FDC), the largest provider of EFT and card processing services in Australia. First Data is integrating BASE24 Remote Banking with its existing card processing platform to offer BPay bill payment services to clients in Australia.
BPay is an extension of the telephone-based bill payment products and services First Data has provided its clients since 1991. Within five years, First Data estimates the system will process 30 million transactions annually. That anticipated volume, coupled with client requirements, led First Data to select BASE24(R) as the processing engine for its BPay offering.

"First Data is driven to provide our clients with flexible, convenient and sophisticated payment systems," said Tem Elliott, senior vice president of Sales and Service for First Data Australia. "ACI met our requirements with a superior product, and a project team that provided valuable industry expertise, product knowledge and immediate on-site assistance to bring the project in on budget and within a tight time frame."

BASE24 operates on Compaq NonStop Himalaya servers to provide First Data with fault-tolerant, scalable processing power. The remote banking application also offers First Data the ability to interface with a variety of home banking front-end systems including interactive voice response units (IVRs) and Internet banking platforms.

"First Data will use BASE24 to extend its card processing operation into the emerging bill payment environment," said Don McLarty, managing director and vice president of ACI Worldwide's Asia/Pacific operation. "BASE24 provides the secure, 7x24 processing infrastructure necessary to give consumers the ability to pay bills and conduct banking anytime, with optimum service levels. The platform also offers First Data the flexibility needed to take advantage of emerging technologies such as the Internet."
