Just thought i would post up a few simple things that can help cut down on how much energy you use and a few good reasons to recycle as much as you can.

Things that can easily be done to cut down on the use of energy in the home.

-Turning down your thermostat by just 1 degree (oC) can reduce yearly heating bills by upto 10 %.
-Simply turning off the lights to all the rooms you are not using.
-Turn off TV's, Hi-Fi's and Computers if you are not using them.
-If your making a cup of tea then just boil enough water to fill the cup
(is all using energy efficently)

REASONS TO RECYCLE ALUINIUM CANS

-Producing New aluminium cans using old recycled cans saves upto 95% of the energy needed to create that one can from raw materials.

REASONS TO RECYCLE GLASS BOTTLES

-Every tonne of glass recycled saves over one tonne of raw materials like sand and limestone being used. This means that there is less need to quarry, leading to less damage to the country side, less polution and more valuable energy saving.
