Subject: ZZR600 Flat Spot

I recently bought a 93 zzr600E1 to which the previous owner had installed a Dynojet kit, he did make me aware that there was a flat spot between 3-4k revs in high gears, although i didnt encounter it on my test ride. The bike has a standard exhaust system.

Im now riding the bike daily and ive realised how much of a flat spot it is, and its HUGE, yes its 3-4k revs but in 4th, 5th and 6th. if i keep the revs above 5k then its fine, but as soon as it drops below this and i try to open the throttle the bike just coughs and wheezes and i have to drop it down a gear or 2 just to overtake, and going up a particularly high ratio hill recently saw me down to first gear.

Does anybody have any idea how i can try to resolve this problem, and most importantly if its going to cost me big - Ive had the carbs balanced, which has cured a prob with the choke not working, but it doesnt seem to have made any changes to the flat spot
