Most likely, oil is coming up past the piston rings. You say the plug electrode was dry but what colour was it ?
The plug may have gone in oily to start with. Are all plugs in same condition. Are you losing oil. Can you see blue smoke. can you smell oil being burnt when the engine is running ?
It may be nothing to be too concerned by, just normal wear and tear.
