As a home/land owner in Bisbee, AZ I am appalled with the "lack of" city lawn, weeds along the roads and land care.
What is the City of Bisbee thinking?
1. People come here from all over the world, including my family and friends to visit. And the comment is "who is supposed to take care of removing weeds?", or "is the city bankrupt and cannot afford weed control?"
Has anyone that is in management of Bisbee ever traveled to other cities, states or european countries? There are small towns everywhere that take care of their lawns, areas around roads and entrances to towns.
The lack of care for areas around roads, roundabout is maintained is shameful! The city officials should be embarrassed. Isn't anyone held accountable? Sometimes the weeds are so tall and large that a person can't walk on a sidewalk or see to drive or to make a turn due to blockage.
I would like to see a regular removal of weeds i.e. by mowing or manual digging out of large weeds (which by the way have been proven to emit toxic fumes and allergy causing fuzzies into the air")!!!!
Tax everyone another $25.00 a year for weed control ($25.00 X 6,000 persons is more than enough money to get the job done).
Set up a continual schedule for weed control.
Put someone in charge and make he or she accountable.
2. What about the cemetary on Douglas Road?
Who is to take care of that piece of property?
Lack of care in cutting lawns in the cemetary is disgraceful.
Lack of care along the fences makes the cemetary look abandoned.
Put someone in charge and make them accountable!
3. What has happened to the MINE properties?
Isn't there anyone in charge of maintaining mine properties i.e. along their fences and in lawn areas. Large weeds permiate and overtake many of the lawn areas.
Who is in charge of Bisbee Blue Shop areas?
Doesn't anyone have some pride in how the Bisbee Blue Shop and surrounding mine areas looks?
Make the mine accountable for their own property.
And if the city is in charge of the lawns and removal of weeds around the mine: GET BUSY! GET IT DONE! GET IT CLEANED UP! PLEASE!
4. VOLUNTEERS for care and maintenance of Bisbee landscape!
Set up a volunteer program to take care of certain Bisbee areas to get weed control done.
Lawn mowing.
Weed Whacking.
Dig weeds out.
Plantings.
Look into donations of some plant life that will survive in Arizona and take over weed areas.
Get volunteers busy!
Initiate a "Adopt a Bisbee Area": people could adopt an area for a certain sum and that sum would go toward care, maintenance and perhaps plantings. (This program would work along the lines of state "adopt a highway programs").
